Description: This collection of black and white photographs (and one tintype) was given to us by Mary Ann Hale, who purchased her Bass Harbor house at 224 Harbor Drive in 1994 from Doris M. Bridgham (probably Doris Torrey). Mary Ann found the photos in the house. The home was owned formerly by Maynard Torrey, father of Doris and Dorian. Maynard Torrey inherited the property from his father, Samuel S. Torrey, originally from Swan's Island. Maynard's sister, Fannie Etta Torrey married Allen Leslie Black, and they lived in the next house, and raised their family there. These photos are from both families. [show more]
